Fleurimond’s path to culinary success wasn’t a straight line.  A graduate of Columbia University with a degree in Political Science, she initially envisioned a different career. However, her passion for food and her desire to showcase the richness of Haitian cuisine led her to a different path.

She founded Fleurimond Catering, a company that quickly gained recognition for its delicious and authentic Haitian dishes. Her clientele expanded to include high-profile organizations like PIX11 News, Ann-Hauser Busch, Columbia University, New York City Hall, BET News, and The Colbert Report, as well as celebrities like Vivica A. Fox and Al Jareau.

A Culinary Journey Through Haiti: Haiti Uncovered

Fleurimond’s ambition extended beyond catering.  She authored “Haiti Uncovered: A Regional Adventure Into the Art of Haitian Cuisine,” a cookbook that takes readers on a culinary journey through Haiti’s ten departments. More than just a collection of recipes, the book explores the history, culture, and traditions woven into each dish, painting a vibrant picture of Haitian life.

This project solidified her role as a cultural ambassador for Haiti, challenging stereotypes and showcasing the beauty and diversity of her homeland.

On Saturday, May 25th Entrepreneur, chef and author Nadege Fleurimond brought a Taste of Haïti to The NY Times Center in Times Square for the second edition release of her cookbook Haïti Uncovered: A Regional Adventure into the Art of Haitian Cuisine. The coffee table cookbook boast over 100 traditional Haitian recipes, while sharing the rich culinary heritage and flavors of Haiti with readers. The book is full of travel anecdotes, photos and the beautiful dishes and people of Haiti.
